Liberal Party and Wales 1832 to 1979

Support for the Liberal Party in Wales stayed healthy until the Labour Party started to organise itself. The Conservative Party's support stayed reasonably static in terms of the social class it attracted for support. However, in Wales the Liberal Party could not rely on the support of the working class after the Labour Party had taken root.
